Imagine that you are assisting someone (a real or fictitious person of your choice) in finding a medical provider. In your post, provide a brief description of this person and address the following questions:

·         What factors would you need to keep in mind while conducting this search?

·         How would you evaluate who the best medical provider for this person is?

·         Consider the type of care necessary, cost, the level and type of insurance coverage available, and any other related issues. What would make someone a good or bad medical provider for this person?

  2. I am helping my friend find a medical provider and she is very picky. When helping her I have to consider that she only likes for females to be her Dr.. She also likes for her doctors office to be between her home and work. She doesn't make as much money to cover a hospital bill so she would prefer an office where her medical insurance would cover the entire bill. To help her we would evaluate all doctor offices that take her insurance and within her location. We would not choose a medical provider that is too far or that is a male.

  3. To help my friend I would first find out if she has insurance, which she does and that's what I would have to base her doctor off of. Most females prefer to have a female doctor which I prefer to do the same and she does also. She would want a doctor no more than 6 miles away from her home, she also wants a doctor who can specialize in ob/gyn and family practitioner. So overall she wants a Female doctor who accepts medicaid and is nomore than 6 miles away with og/gyn and family practice.

  6. I am assisting my best friend with finding a new doctor for her to deliver her new baby. She is a high risk patient because she has had two complicated pregnancies in the past. She asked for my help because my sister also had complicated pregnancies and her doctor was great and her babies turned out fine. I asked her if she had insurance and told her that the doctor was a female. I gave her all the information that I knew about the doctor, let her talk to my sister about her experience, and set up a appointment for her. I joined her on the appointment to make sure she met the medical team and got a tour of the hospital and she also had a chance to meet with the doctor talk with her about her concerns.

  8. I am assisting Victoria, a 75 yr old female with a persistent cough in finding a respiratory physician. She frequently has coughing episodes where she is coughing uncontrollably and cannot breathe. She has an asthmatic pump which doesn't give her any relief. In helping Ms.Victoria find a physician, I asked her the following questions: What type of health insurance she has, is there a specific gender she would like her physician to be,and the number of years the physician has been in practice. After visiting the Medicare website as well as calling the Medicare help line,Victoria and I was able to find her a Pulmonologist physicain with several years of experience within her city limits. Afterwards, we searched for reviews on this physician and found that he has no bad reviews or reports. Ms.Victoria was very pleased and thanked me for my time and help.
